"Hey Hunter, Charles Oliveira, and Max Holloway, BMF—let's make that happen." At Rio de Janeiro's Farmasi Arena, when Michael Bisping echoed Oliveira's words, the crowd erupted into a loud roar. Since last year, the former lightweight champion has dealt with a lopsided record – two losses against one win. The skewed balance could have deterred a lesser mortal. But this is Do Bronxs. At UFC Rio, he set the record straight with a second-round win over Mateusz Gamrot. Now, it's time to add more weight to the 'W' side of the ledger.

To that end, Charles Oliveira seems to have chalked out a plan. Sitting comfortably just behind Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan, the Brazilian fighter has set his sights on Ilia Topuria's belt. The Georgian-Spanish striker dashed Oliveira's dreams of reclaiming championship glory with a clean first-round KO in June this year. However, Oliveira believes the road to a rematch runs through Max Holloway. A win over the rival who defeated him more than a decade ago could set the stage for a round two with Topuria.

First stop: Max Holloway. Final Destination: Ilia Topuria

Charles Oliveira was in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, yesterday, where the city's Potawatomi Casino Event Center hosted Anthony Pettis FC 20: Milwaukee Fight Night 9. Oliveira personally wrapped the belt around Roland Dunlop, who successfully defended his APFC title. With a star like Do Bronxs in attendance, it was inevitable that the ring announcer would ask the million-dollar question: "How soon are you going to have UFC gold wrapped around your waist?" To which Oliveira replied, "Man, I'm working on it!"

Then came the part everyone wanted to hear: "I think I'll have the opportunity to fight for the BMF title now. And, if I get past Max, I think I'll be the next title challenger." That declaration drew another round of cheers and applause.

Oliveira sits at #3 in the lightweight rankings, one spot above Holloway. Sure, a bout between them has all the makings of a title eliminator. But it all depends on the upcoming UFC 322 welterweight title fight between Islam Makhachev and Jack Della Maddalena. I

f the former lightweight champ gets the win, the current one might chase him down at welterweight. Topuria vs. Makhachev is the biggest fight the UFC could not make this year (maybe only second to Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall). If the stars align again, you can count on them to cash in on the opportunity under the Paramount partnership next year.

Where does that leave Oliveira?

After his loss in the UFC 317 headliner, Charles Oliveira returned home, where he had originally been scheduled to face Rafael Fiziev last month. But a knee injury forced the Azerbaijani contender to withdraw from the Fight Night, paving the way for Poland's Mateusz Gamrot to step in. The bout ended in the second round when Oliveira secured a submission via face crank.

The UFC seems to be at a loss on what to do with Ilia Topuria. They are not giving him the rightful contender, Arman Tsarukyan. There are rumors of a Justin Gaethje fight early next year, when a more deserving Max Holloway is sitting on a big win, in which he retired Dustin Poirier. So, both Max and Charles might be left fighting to make up for the void left by the champ's inactivity. What may intrigue fans is that Holloway shares similar sentiments as Oliveira about a rematch.

Holloway to Charles Oliveira: The dance floor awaits

Max Holloway also believes a rematch with Charles Oliveira makes a lot of sense. The two share history. Ten years ago, they headlined a card in Canada, where Holloway won via first-round TKO. Ever since, fans have been clamoring for a sequel to their thrilling duel.

Speaking with Drake Riggs, Max Holloway made his stance clear: "That's the fight I want. That's the fight that a lot of people want to see. We have history. A lot, you know, there are not too many people right now that people are considering BMFs, right? But on that very short list, you know, on a very short list, Charles Oliveira is one of them."

On April 13 last year, Holloway defeated Justin Gaethje in what's now considered a UFC classic to capture the symbolic "BMF" title. Though he later fell to Ilia Topuria, a fate that Oliveira would share months afterward, Holloway bounced back with a bang in July this year, defending the BMF title against Dustin Poirier.

While Holloway may have waved the green flag, he appears to have a few conditions for the Oliveira rematch. For now, much depends on what the UFC ultimately decides.

In a matchup drenched in familiarity, tactics mattered more than power. Defending champion Coco Gauff walked into her WTA Finals opener armed with momentum and confidence (especially after tasting success at the Wuhan Open final against the same opponent). But Jessica Pegula carried something stronger—inside knowledge. It didn't take long for Gauff to realize the pattern was stacked against her. Predictable shots, predictable patterns, predictable outcomes. Post-match, Gauff made no excuses, pinpointing the flaw that turned the duel into a decoding exercise for her close friend-turned-foe.

This was their seventh meeting and second of the season. Pegula, calm as ever, dismantled Gauff's rhythm, turning rallies into puzzles and exposing patterns that Gauff herself would later admit became her undoing. Their partnership, usually a superpower, became the key that unlocked Gauff's weaknesses. For once, familiarity did not breed comfort. It bred trouble. So, after the 3-6, 7-6(4), 6-2 defeat, Gauff didn't hide. She didn't sugarcoat. Instead, she faced the truth head-on, a trait that has defined her maturity this season.

Before the match, Gauff stated that this match would be a bit "tricky" since they have recently played against each other in Wuhan and they know what to expect from each other's game. She also added, "It's one of those matches where you have your game plan, but you have to be able to adjust because she might know my game plan already." Guess what? Her major worry might just have come true. Because after the match, while analyzing her WTA Finals defeat, she said, "Obviously, a little frustrated with the serve today. Overall, it was a tough match for me. Jess played well, and I thought she was playing a bit smarter than she was when we played in Wuhan."

August 28, 2025, Flushing Meadows, New York, USA: Coco Gauff reacts after losing a game during a match against Donna Vekic on Day 5 of the 2025 US Open at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Thursday August 28, 2025 in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City. This was Jessica Pegula's 25th win over a top-10 opponent and her 52nd overall win this season. The 2023 WTA Finals runner-up looks determined, and she'll now face the world number one, Aryna Sabalenka, in the next match. But before shifting our focus to the upcoming battles, let's take a look at what she said about Coco Gauff after the match.

Jessica Pegula heaps praise on Coco Gauff after the match

The lights at the WTA Finals burned brighter than ever, but on a night Coco Gauff had hoped to showcase her growth, the weight of expectation pressed harder than the tennis balls she sent into the net. Serving once again became her battleground. Double faults crept in like unwelcomed ghosts, halting momentum, feeding frustration, and forcing her to fight not just her opponent but also her own execution.

Inside the arena, murmurs followed every missed first serve. She committed a total of 17 double faults and 45 forehand unforced errors in that match. Not only that, Gauff faced 18 break points and got broken 9 times. Fans who have watched the evolution of the young American could sense her struggle; every service toss felt like a test, every follow-through like a plea for rhythm.

After securing her first victory at the WTA Finals since beating Coco Gauff in the 2023 semi-finals, Jessica Pegula said, "Coco's entire game is about disrupting you—she's so fast and makes you play so many balls. Even in the second set, I felt I had chances. She served really well at times, got free points, but I just wanted to stay focused in the third. I knew what I had to do, and it was about keeping that balance between being aggressive and not overplaying."

Pegula executed her game plan with the calm professionalism of a player who has learned to ride waves, not fight them. She absorbed pace, redirected balls, and punished anything short. After the match, during her interview with Tennis Channel, she further added, "It's tough because against a great champion like Coco, you have to execute everything perfectly. She makes you earn every point."

According to her co-coach Mark Knowles, Jessica Pegula is currently playing the best tennis of her career at the age of 31. Currently ranked fifth in the world, Pegula has already won three titles this season, and this was her fourth consecutive year-end Top 10 finish. According to Knowles, "I've been around a lot of great champions, a lot of great players. She's a bit of a savage; I mean, she's an incredible competitor. She's very honest with herself. She's not afraid to back down from any challenge. Pretty amazing."

Jessica Pegula outsmarted Coco Gauff in the previous match, but can she do the same against Aryna Sabalenka? Time will tell! On the other side, Gauff will next face Jasmine Paolini in her second group stage match. Do you think she can get back to winning ways this time?

The Atlanta Braves have just been told a nightmarish scenario. With the off-season underway, the Braves must address the shortstop spot before it's too late. There are two ways this could go. Ideally, they'd secure Ha-Seong Kim on a new deal before he tests the market. However, given the warnings they've received about Kim this weekend, it's tough to predict what direction the Braves will take. They could still target Bo Bichette, but that move's starting to look unlikely now.

Sportscaster David O'Brien said that Ha-Seong Kim is almost certain to decline his $16M player option for 2026. That means the Atlanta Braves will need to come up with a strong long-term offer to keep him.

He's the best shortstop option out there. Considering that Bo Bichette's defensive struggles are likely pushing him to another position. All the while, Atlanta's need at shortstop is getting hard to ignore.

In the next campaign, they can't rely on the rest of the lineup to consistently cover for Nick Allen's weak bat.

At 27, Bo Bichette will likely be chasing a contract close to $200 million. There's no doubt he can hit, yet injuries this season and ongoing defensive struggles have held him back. As Eric Cole from HTHB also noted, when you factor in the price tag and his defensive issues, signing Bichette could turn out to be a costly mistake for the Braves.

Atlanta's shortstops haven't provided much offense lately, but defense is still key up the middle. That's where Bichette falls short; his game is built more around hitting than fielding at this point.

And when it comes to Kim, the Braves have a very short window to strike a deal before other teams jump in. It's all on the general manager and president of baseball operations for the Atlanta Braves, Alex Anthopoulos.

He should be able to put together an offer tempting enough to keep Kim from testing free agency. If the Braves can't land Ha-Seong Kim after all, it'll be interesting to see how they pivot and fill that void. More so, if Bo Bichette somehow decides to stay in Toronto.

Is Bo Bichette's chapter in Toronto coming to an end?

Bo Bichette's longtime teammate and close friend, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., shared his thoughts on Bichette after Game 7 of the World Series. "I would love to finish my career playing with him, but it's free agency."

Guerrero said in the early hours of Sunday morning. Right after the Blue Jays' heartbreaking extra-innings Game 7 loss to the Dodgers in the World Series. "He has got to go do his thing and do what he has to do to go get his money." Vladdy added.

For the record, many teams across MLB are expected to chase Bo Bichette this offseason. His situation has quickly become one of the biggest storylines for the Blue Jays' front office. And it won't come without tough decisions and criticism.

Bichette is the standout among the Blue Jays' upcoming free agents, a group that also includes Chris Bassitt and Max Scherzer. After hitting a clutch three-run homer in Game 7, nearly sealing a World Series win, Bichette's about to secure a massive payday.

Toronto could be in the mix, too. "I've said I want to be here from the beginning. I want to be here, but I just played Game 7." Bo Bichette said after Saturday's tough Game 7 loss.

*EW's BINGE* podcast is back, back, back again with a new season diving deep into the herstory of *RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars*.

The new batch of episodes kicks off (below) with a *RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 1* recap featuring Jujubee and Alexis Mateo spilling tea on the season's wildest secrets — including a major reveal that the latter considered leaving the competition before it even began.

"It brought me back to, you know at recess when you're playing dodgeball and you're the last one picked? I was like, what if nobody picks me!" Jujubee jokes of the season's gaggy twist that saw the queens enter the Werk Room alone, but compete in pairs they had to sort themselves into.

Jujubee ended up pairing with season 2 alum Raven, while Mateo joined forces with her season 3 sister (and current *All Stars 6* competitor) Yara Sofia, and while she looks back on the partnership with affection now, the initial shock of the twist nearly sent her sashaying away on her own accord.

"I'm easy to make a decision to go," Mateo remembers, adding that she "fiercely" debated checking out of the contest. "If you go back and look at it, I go back and look at that door several times!"

**Other highlights from this episode include:**

- The queens reflect on Pandora Boxx's reaction to pairing up with controversial queen Mimi Imfurst (and their attempts to soothe her emotions off-camera).

- Mateo explains the story behind her famous "act a fool, girl" clash in *Untucked*.

- Mateo gives an update on her infamous military boyfriend from season 3.

- Jujubee savors the memory of squirting whipped cream down an unsuspecting stranger's pants during the outdoor prank challenge (Mateo also has some feelings on this).

- Both queens dish on the matchup-within-a-matchup on the makeover episode, which saw Jujubee and Raven lightly tussling with actress Kady Z over her drag reinvention.

- Mateo tells us how she really felt when Sofia tag-teamed the lip-sync by pushing "*the* button."

- Jujubee reveals how she and Raven mounted one of the most emotional lip-syncs in *Drag Race* herstory, set to Robyn's "Dancing on My Own."

- Both queens kiki over a hilarious, hangry memory of a time the cast banded together in solidarity because they really wanted Popeye's (and Jujubee confirms she did, in fact, get fried chicken after the Raven lip-sync).

*EW's BINGE* podcast is here to make it clear: You think you know *RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 2*, but you really have no idea.

This week, drag superstars Alaska and Detox reunite for a special *AS2* recap in which they spill scalding tea on highlights from the fan-favorite season — including when Detox nearly changed her mind about her decision to eliminate Alyssa Edwards from the competition.

"I wanted to change it when I picked Alyssa. I just didn't do it… I knew it was Roxxxy's time to go, but I still picked Alyssa. The whole time I was like, 'God, I should've just done it,'" Detox recalls of the episode 7 moment in which she chose to eliminate Edwards over her friend, who'd appeared in the bottom across four consecutive weeks leading up to that point. "I had already put [Alyssa's lipstick] under my sleeve, and I was going to ask one of the PAs to be like, 'I can't do this, I've gotta change my lipstick,' but I didn't know how to do that. I didn't know how to navigate that. I was like, f--- it, it's already done."

Edwards' elimination was one of many juicy scenes in what fans often cite as the best season in* RuPaul's Drag Race *herstory. It marked the first time the queens, rather than the panel of judges, were tasked with eliminating each other from the competition. Alaska, who went on to win *AS2*, also tells EW how she dealt with the intense back-and-forth between viewers — including over the headline-making moment where Alaska also saved Roxxxy, seemingly because of a borrow rhinestoned top.

"You can't go around and be like, 'Yeah, I regret it, and I'm so sorry,' you have to be like, 'No, I stand behind my decision, I'd do it again,' and deal with it. In general, the fans had been really nice to me for a long time — inordinately nice to me — and all of a sudden they were really mean to me. It made me realize first of all, [the internet is] not real, it's a fiction," Alaska says. "It also gave me a lot of compassion for the majority of queens who go on *Drag Race* who don't have a very nice relationship with the fandom, who get treated like s--- by the fandom. It gave me compassion. I understand that now."

She also fondly recalls the moment Andrews lent her the infamous white top, as was in-line with the queen's character throughout the season: "I had a white shirt that I was going to wear and she had the identical white shirt, except hers was rhinestoned, so I was like, oh, work.... she's lovely and she was giving s--- to everybody and helping everybody the whole ass time!"
