Prior to the injury, the sophomore went 10-of-15 for 91 yards and a touchdown. Freshman quarterback TJ Lateef stepped in with Raiola out, going 5-of-7.
The Trojans surged back from an eight-point deficit, scoring two touchdowns (including a 2-point conversion) in the second half to best Nebraska.
Raiola, one of the top recruits in 2024, has been the Cornhuskers' starter for two seasons after swapping his commitment from Georgia to Nebraska. This season, his completion percentage ranks in the top six among NCAA QBs, with QB rating and total touchdowns in the top 20.
With the injury, Raiola is set to miss Nebraska final three games of the year, plus the postseason. The Huskers are 6-3 and bowl eligible.
Lateef will most likely step in as a starter in Raiola's absence, with the freshman having some tough games ahead. Nebraska doesn't have any more ranked matchups left this season, but will still be playing against some tough Big Ten opponents, facing UCLA, Penn State and Iowa to finish the season.
